He is one of Bandit's pups from last year that came back to us because as he reached social maturity he found it very stressful to live with toddlers. O'Malley has some initial stranger danger but he warms up pretty quickly. O'Malley knows many commands and is eager to please. He does have some anxiety around barriers and will growl to express his anxiety.
His foster home is successfully working on this quirk. We will not place him with young children and he will need a family that can keep his active mind busy. We provide high quality foster care for these animals until they can be matched with their perfect homes. We have chosen to require an application fee for all puppy applications. On an average our volunteers evaluate over 500 applications a month, at least 50% of those are for our available puppies. Of those applicants, many fall through because of factors like applicants not being fully prepared to take on the responsibility of a new puppy. We believe that our volunteer resources would be best spent on applications that are prepared and ready to take on this change in their lifestyle. If you are unable to adopt the puppy you originally applied for you do not need to reapply and pay the fee within 6 months for a different puppy.

Through Subaru's rescue a pet a month this October, they are giving Northern Lakes Rescue $100 for every dog that is adopted in the month of October 2021. On October 16 at the Subaru dealership in St. Cloud, NLR will hold an adoption event from 11-3. Various dogs that are available will be at the event for the public to come see.
